# Bing Copilot API — answers, sources and product cards

> Ask Microsoft Copilot a question and get its answer, cited pages, product cards, places, images and search queries.

`BING_COPILOT` asks the Copilot chat at copilot.com, with web search always on and no account or login involved.

| | |
| - | - |
| taskType | `BING_COPILOT` |
| Aliases | `COPILOT` |
| Reads | `prompt` (falls back to `query`) |
| Credits | 1 |
| Country | Optional, default `US`. |

## Request

```bash theme={"theme":"css-variables"}
curl -X POST https://api.querying.ai/v1/async/task \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $QUERYING_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{ "taskType": "BING_COPILOT", "payload": { "prompt": "best CRM for a small team", "country": "US" } }'
```

## Response

| Field | Type | Description |
| - | - | - |
| `text` | string | The answer. |
| `sources` | array | The pages Copilot cited: `position`, `url`, `label`. |
| `shoppingCards` | array | Product cards. Always present, empty when there are none. |
| `map` | array | Places: `position`, `name`, `placeId`, `location`, `layerLabel`. Always present, empty when there are none. |
| `searchQueries` | string\[] | The searches Copilot ran. Always present, empty when there are none. |
| `images` | array | An image carousel: `title`, `url`, `image`, `thumbnail`, `medium`, `source`, `image_width`, `image_height`. |
| `videos` | array | A video carousel: `title`, `url`, `medium`, `thumbnail`, `source`, `duration`. |
| `markdown` | string | The answer as Markdown. Only with `include.markdown`. |
| `rawResponse` | array | Stream events. Only with `include.rawResponse`. |

Shopping questions often cite no page and return product cards instead, so `sources: []` is a normal answer. Each `shoppingCards` entry holds `products`, and product positions run across all cards. A product keeps Copilot's `review` (a summary of what buyers say and the stores it came from), `prosAndCons` and `curationInfo`; each is `null` when Copilot has none. In `images`, `url` is the page the image belongs to and `image` is the image file; in `videos`, `url` is the watch page.

For example:

```json theme={"theme":"css-variables"}
{
  "text": "For a small team, HubSpot CRM and Pipedrive are easy to start with ...",
  "sources": [{ "position": 1, "url": "https://www.example.com/crm-guide", "label": "CRM guide for small teams" }],
  "shoppingCards": [],
  "map": [],
  "searchQueries": ["best CRM for small teams"]
}
```

With `include.markdown`, `markdown` places the image carousel as `![title](image)` lines where Copilot shows it, and each video as a linked thumbnail.

## Include flags

| Flag | Effect |
| - | - |
| `markdown` | Adds `markdown`. |
| `rawResponse` | Adds `rawResponse`. |
| `citationAnalysis` | Runs a [Citation Analysis](/research/citation-analysis.md) on the answer. |

`searchQueries`, `ads` and `shopping` have no effect. `analysis` is rejected with `422 VALIDATION_ERROR` and `html` with `422 EVIDENCE_UNSUPPORTED`. See [Markdown and raw responses](/engines/response-options.md).
